Terms of Service

Last updated & effective: October 2026 | Version 4.1

Welcome to Backpulse ("we", "us", or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a binding agreement between you ("User" or "you") and the Backpulse developer team, governing your access to and use of backpulse.io, our algorithmic backtesting suite, TradingView webhook signal bridge, and browser extensions (for Chrome and Firefox).

1. About Backpulse & Agreement to Terms

Backpulse is an independent quantitative trading software project designed to assist traders with automated backtesting, strategy parameter optimization, and low-latency webhook execution across supported cryptocurrency exchanges.

Startup Notice: Backpulse is developed and operated by an independent software team. We are NOT a custodial cryptocurrency exchange, broker-dealer, asset manager, or financial advisory firm. We do not hold client deposits, manage investment pools, or provide financial advice.

By accessing our website, installing the Backpulse Browser Extension, connecting exchange API credentials, or creating an account, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. Browser Extension Compatibility & Limitations

IMPORTANT COMPATIBILITY NOTICE
The Backpulse Strategy Optimizer Extension is designed to work with many or most standard TradingView strategies, but compatibility cannot be guaranteed for every custom or third-party strategy.

You acknowledge and agree to the following operational characteristics of the Browser Extension:

  • Public & Standard Strategies: The extension works reliably with strategies that utilize standard TradingView input formats (e.g. input.int, input.float, input.bool).
  • Custom & Private Scripts: Some proprietary, invite-only, or third-party strategies use non-standard input selectors, obfuscated DOM trees, or unusual code structures that our extension selectors cannot automatically detect or parse.
  • Source Code Adaptation: If you have access to the Pine Script source code of your strategy, parameters can typically be reformatted into standard Pine Script inputs to make them fully compatible with the optimizer.
  • No Compatibility Refunds: Incompatibility with a specific third-party or custom Pine Script strategy is not grounds for a refund (please test using our free trial or tier prior to upgrading).

3. Service Availability & Third-Party Platform Reliance

Our software interacts with upstream third-party platforms, primarily TradingView (tradingview.com) and browser marketplace runtimes (Google Chrome Web Store, Mozilla Add-ons). You acknowledge and agree that:

  • TradingView Platform Updates: TradingView frequently updates its website design, CSS class names, and internal DOM structures. These upstream changes may occasionally cause temporary disruptions or parsing errors in our browser extension until an update is deployed.
  • Commercially Reasonable Efforts: Our development team actively monitors TradingView releases and makes commercially reasonable efforts to adapt and push extension updates as quickly as possible.
  • No Upstream Liability: Backpulse is not responsible or liable for service interruptions, delay in test runs, or inconveniences resulting from changes, downtime, or policy shifts enacted by TradingView or browser vendors.

4. Independent Relationship with TradingView (Trademark Notice)

TRADEMARK DISCLAIMER
Backpulse is an independent third-party product and is NOT affiliated with, sponsored by, certified, or endorsed by TradingView, Inc. 'TradingView' and 'Pine Script' are registered trademarks of TradingView, Inc. (www.tradingview.com).

Backpulse operates as an external productivity companion for traders who hold their own TradingView accounts. When you use Backpulse in conjunction with TradingView, you remain responsible for complying with TradingView's Terms of Use.

We do not claim any ownership over TradingView software, charting libraries, proprietary indicators, or market data feeds.

5. User Accounts, Eligibility & Free Trial

Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years of age (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account or use Backpulse.

Account Security: You are solely responsible for safeguarding your login credentials. Each individual may maintain only one active account. Account sharing or leasing is prohibited.

Free Trial Terms: New eligible users may activate a one-time 3-day Pro free trial. When the trial expires, the account smoothly reverts to the free Starter plan unless you choose to upgrade to a paid subscription.

6. Subscriptions, Billing & Cancellation Policy

Subscription Tiers: Backpulse offers tiered subscription access (Free Starter, Pro, and Scale). Detailed limits, concurrent exchange hubs, and backtest quotas are listed on our Pricing page.

Merchant of Record: All payment checkouts, recurring billing, VAT, and sales tax compliance are securely managed by Dodo Payments as our authorized Merchant of Record. Backpulse never stores full credit card numbers.

Cancellation Anytime: You may cancel your subscription at any time directly through your Account dashboard under the 'Subscription' tab. When you cancel, you will continue to enjoy full access to your paid features until the end of your current billing cycle. After your cycle concludes, your account will naturally revert to the free Starter tier with no further charges.

Refund Policy: Because computational infrastructure and cloud resources are provisioned immediately upon purchase, payments are generally non-refundable once a billing cycle has started, except where mandated by applicable consumer protection laws.

7. Non-Custodial Architecture & Exchange API Security

ZERO-WITHDRAWAL POLICY
Backpulse enforces a strict zero-withdrawal policy. You must NEVER enable withdrawal permissions on API keys connected to Backpulse. Any API key detected with withdrawal permissions is immediately rejected.

Non-Custodial: All digital assets, fiat balances, and margin collateral remain 100% in your own accounts on supported exchanges (Binance, Bybit, OKX, Bitget, etc.). Backpulse never takes legal, physical, or cryptographic custody of your assets.

Encryption & Storage: Connected exchange API credentials are transmitted over encrypted TLS 1.3 tunnels and stored using AES-256-GCM encryption. Decryption occurs only in volatile memory to execute your automated trading signals.

Immediate Disconnection: You retain unilateral control to delete or revoke your connected exchange API keys at any time directly from the Backpulse interface or within your exchange settings.

8. Acceptable Use Policy & Prohibited Conduct

You agree that you will NOT engage in any of the following prohibited activities while using Backpulse:

  • Reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to extract proprietary source code from our services or APIs.
  • Launching denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, automated abusive scraping, or flooding endpoints beyond published rate limits.
  • Reselling, sublicensing, or white-labeling Backpulse webhook URLs or services without prior written permission.
  • Using Backpulse infrastructure for unlawful market manipulation, wash trading, spoofing, or violating applicable financial regulations.
  • Attempting unauthorized access to other users' accounts, servers, or database systems.

9. Intellectual Property & User Strategy Ownership

Your Trading Strategies: You retain 100% ownership of your custom Pine Script source code, proprietary formulas, parameter configurations, and trading strategies. Backpulse does not claim ownership, sell, or disclose your proprietary trading logic.

Backpulse Intellectual Property: All software, algorithms, user interfaces, branding, graphics, and documentation provided by Backpulse are the property of the Backpulse team and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.

10. Financial Trading Risk Warning & No Financial Advice

HIGH RISK WARNING
Trading cryptocurrencies, futures, and leveraged financial products involves substantial risk of loss. Never trade with money you cannot afford to lose.

No Financial Advice: Backpulse provides quantitative software tools, backtest analytics, and webhook routing infrastructure. None of our software, documentation, or metrics constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.

Historical Simulations: Backtest metrics are hypothetical simulations calculated from historical price data. Historical performance is not indicative of future market results. Simulations do not guarantee that your live trading will achieve similar results.

Your Sole Responsibility: You are solely responsible for evaluating your trading strategies, setting risk limits, leverage ratios, and managing your exchange accounts.

11. Limitation of Liability & Disclaimers

"AS IS" Basis: Backpulse and all related services are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

No Liability for Trading Losses: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Backpulse and its developers shall not be liable for any trading losses, missed trades, slippage, exchange liquidation, technical downtime, or third-party outages.

Liability Cap: In all cases, our total cumulative liability for any claims arising out of or relating to your use of Backpulse shall be limited to the total fees paid by you to Backpulse in the three (3) months preceding the event, or one hundred US dollars ($100 USD), whichever is greater.

12. Account Termination & Self-Service Data Deletion

You can terminate your account and delete your data at any time through your Account Settings under the Danger Zone (offering instant permanent deletion or a 30-day scheduled purge).

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate our Acceptable Use Policy, engage in abusive behavior, or attempt to compromise platform security.

13. Modifications to Terms & Contact Information

We may update these Terms periodically to reflect product updates, new regulations, or technical changes. Continued use of Backpulse after changes become effective indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
